NORTHAMPTON, MASS. - Keene State College opened up its
indoor track season at the Smith College Winter Classic on
Saturday.
Junior Kaley Griffin (Manchester, N.H.) won the
55-meter hurdles (9.47) and sophomore Amy Knoblock
(Plymouth, Mass.) won the 600 (1:42.92) to lead the Owl women.
Sophomore Bryan Kolacz (Brentwood, N.H.) also
had a big day in field events, setting Keene State records with his
first place finishes in the weight throw (57'-05.00") and the shot
put (47'-03.75). His weight throw was also an NCAA provisional
qualifying mark.
Senior Patrick Craven (North Kingstown, R.I.)
and sophomore Craig MacPherson (Derry, N.H.) won a
pair of races for the Owls in the non-scoring meet. Craven
won the 600 (1:25.50) and the 1,000 (2:42.85) and MacPherson placed
first in the mile (4:16.77) and the 3,000 (8:40.73).
Keene State competes next Saturday at Harvard University.
