BOSTON, MASS. 2/29/08 - The Keene State Indoor track team raced to All-New England honors in three events at the New England All-Division Championships held at Boston University on Friday night.
The Keene State women's distance medley relay team of Jenn Adams (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.), Katelyn Carr (Scituate, Mass.), Krystin Gavin (Brimfield, Mass.) and Kimber Stannard (Higganum, Conn.) posted an NCAA Division III provisional qualifying time of 12:04.64 with their seventh place finish. The Owls time would've been better if not for a bad hand-off in the race.
The KSC men's DMR team also ran into problems in their race. On the way to posting an NCAA championship qualifying mark, the Owls' Pat Craven (North Kingstown, R.I.) was tripped going around a corner. He staggered to the finish line with a time of 10:05.00 Good enough for fifth place and All-New England honors. The DMR squad, which also included Kevin Kelleher (Rocky Hill, Conn.), Frank Radlof (Milford, N.H.), and Scott MacPherson (Derry, N.H.), will attempt to earn a trip to the nationals when they compete next weekend at the ECAC championships at Harvard.
Junior Sean Gavaghan (Monroe, Conn.) rounded out the All-New England performances with his seventh place finish (14:54.31) in the 5,000-meter race.
