WALTHAM, Mass. 10/31/09 - The Keene State
College women's volleyball team defeated SUNY Oneonta 3-2 (22-25,
20-25, 25-11, 25-17, 15-11) and Maine Machias 3-0 (25-7, 25-11,
25-6) on day two of the Judges Classic hosted by Brandies
University on Saturday afternoon. With the pair of wins the Owls
finish the regular season 18-16 heading into the LEC Tournament.
In the first match of the day the Owls battled back from being
two down to win the final three games to defeat SUNY Oneonta.
Sophomore Bridget O'Bryant (Merrimack, N.H.) had
19 kills, 19 digs and two blocks in the win, while classmate
Ellyse Davis (Londonderry, N.H.) had 13 kills and
six blocks. Senior setter Jordan Pokryfki (Wasilla,
Alaska) paced the Owls attack with 47 assists, while
Sammy Datti (Milford, N.H.) and Abby Rosen
(Hebron, Conn.) each had 16 digs for KSC.
The Owls dominated Maine Machias in the second match of the day
led by Davis with six kills. Pokryfki put up nine assists, while
junior Jamie Levine (Medfield, Mass.) had five
digs and nine service aces in the win.
O'Bryant was named to the All-Tournament Team for KSC. She
tallied 28 kills, 26 digs and 3 blocks in the three matches over
the weekend.
The Owls, who are the #4 seed in the LEC Tournament, will return
home to face #5 seed Rhode Island College on Tuesday night at 6
p.m.
