NORTON, MASS. 11/21/09 - Keene State men's and women's swim/dive
teams split a tri-meet at Wheaton College on Saturday.
The Owl men (4-1) defeated Wheaton College 202-85 and lost to
Springfield College 167.5-129.5. The KSC women (3-3) defeated
Wheaton College 152-147 and lost to Springfield College 154-145.
Senior Domingo Rose (Nashua, N.H.) had a big day in the pool for
the Owls, winning the 100 breast (1:00.90), the 50 free (22.17),
and the 200 breast (2:14.19). He also joined sophomore Harrison
Hollingsworth (Derry, N.H.), junior Lucas Pozzetta (Nashua, N.H.)
and junior Connor Pennoyer (Norwalk, Conn.) on the winning 400
medley relay (3:38.95).
Hollingsworth was a double winner, finishing first in the 100
back (56.67) and the 200 back (2:01.2). Pennoyer won the 100
fly (53.62) and junior Dan Morse (Hope, R.I.) won the 1,000 free
(10:12.81).
Senior Kristine Trutor (Holden, Mass.) won two events to lead
the Owl women. Trutor own the 100 back (1:01.22) and the 200
back (2:14.01). Senior Jackie Foster (Goffstown, N.H.) won
the 1,000 free (10:52.24), sophomore Maureen O'Leary (Nashua, N.H.)
won the 200 fly (2:13.59), sophomore Jillian Whitaker (Gilford,
N.H.) won the 200 IM (2:17.00), and freshman Kaila Umbarger
(Chelmsford, Mass.) won the 50 free (25.16).
Trutor, O'Leary, Whitaker and Umbarger also teamed up to win the
400 medley relay (4:07.21). Freshman Robyn McCarthy (Beverly,
Mass.), senior Alea Paddock (Newbury, N.H.). Foster and Umbarger
teamed up to win the 200 free relay (1:42.14).
