KEENE, N.H. 2/21/09 - Keene State College sophomore
Bryan Kolacz (Brentwood, N.H.) continued his
outstanding indoor track season by capturing the weight throw event
at the Men's New England Division III Track and Field Championships
at MIT on Saturday.
Kolacz, who has already qualified for the NCAA Division III
championships, posted a winning mark of 57'-01.50".
On the track, senior Peter Najem (Derry, N.H.)
placed second in the 600 (1:22.92), Junior Jared
Samuel (Londonderry, N.H.) and sophomore Brandon
Schillemat (Nelson, N.H.) finished fourth (15:20.42) and
fifth (15:26.80) respectively in the 5,000 and senior Jason
Garrity (Topsfield, Mass.) was seventh in the mile with a
time of 4:23.77.
The KSC 4x800 relay team of senior Patrick Craven
(North Kingstown, R.I.), sophomores Jeff Trethewey
(Merrimack, N.H.) and Craig MacPherson (Derry,
N.H.), and Najem placed third with a time of 8:05.23.
The Owl men finished eighth in the 24-team field with 35
points. Williams won the team title with 145 points.
Sophomore Amy Knoblock (Plymouth, Mass.) scored
the only points for the Owls in the women's New England Division
III Championships at Bowdoin College. She placed fifth in the 600
with a time of 1:38.84.
MIT won the championship with 134 points.
