BOSTON, MASS. 2/28/09 - Recovering from a mid-season illness, Keene
State sophomore Craig MacPherson (Derry, N.H.)
raced to a third place finish in the mile at the New England Track
and Field Championships at Boston University on Saturday.
MacPherson posted a time of 4:08.62, the top mark in Division III
so far this season.
In other races, junior Jared Samuel (Londonderry, N.H.) placed
fourth in the 3,000 (8:26.42), senior Jason
Garrity (Topsfield, Mass.) was sixth in the 1,000
(2:30.09), and senior Peter Najem (Derry, N.H.)
placed ninth in the 800 (1:52.69).
The Owls finished 11th in the 31-team field with 21 points.
They placed second among Division III team. The University of
Connecticut won the team title with 128.50 points.
In the women's field, the Owl 4x400 relay team of juniors
Christina Bourbeau (Manchester, N.H.) and
Kimber Stannard (Higganum, Conn.), sophomore
Amy Knoblock (Plymouth, Mass.), and freshman
Haley Lydstone (Bedford, N.H.) had the best
showing of the day, placing 17th with a time of 4:04.57.
The KSC women didn't score at the meet which was won by UConn. with
186.50 points.
