MEDFORD, MASS. 3/7/09 - Seven Owls raced to All-ECAC honors at
the ECAC Division III Track and Field Championships held this
weekend at Tufts University.
Sophomore Amy Knoblock (Plymouth, Mass.) was
the only Owl to score in the women's meet. She placed seventh
in the 800 (2:18.30).
Senior Peter Najem (Derry, N.H.) had the top finish by the KSC
men, a third place performance in the 800-meter race
(1:53.70). Sophomore Craig MacPherson
(Derry, N.H.) was fourth with a time of 1:54.11.
Junior Jared Samuel (Londonderry, N.H.)
finished fifth in the 5,000 (15:08.34), senior Patrick
Craven (North Kingstown, R.I.) placed fifth in the 1,000
(2:32.68), and sophomore Corey Loonan (Sandwich,
Mass.) was sixth in the 3,000 (8:43.88).
The distance medley relay team of sophomore Jeff
Trethewey (Merrimack, N.H.), Craven, MacPherson, and Najem
finished fourth with a time of 10:07.12.The DMR team was looking to
post an NCAA qualifying time.
Keene State tallied 27 points to finish 10th among the 49
scoring teams. St. Lawrence University won the championship
with 53 points.
