LOWELL, MASS. 4/11/09 - Keene State senior
Samantha Hirsh (Holliston, Mass.) posted an NCAA
provisional mark with a winning throw of 135'-04" at the George
Davis Track Invitational at UMass-Lowell on Saturday.
Hirsh, who earned All-America honors with her fourth place
finish at last year's NCAA championship, set a meet record on
Saturday, besting her previous mark of 132' 9.0'' set last
season.
Sophomore Bryan Kolacz (Brentwood, N.H.) also
had fine day in field events, winning the discus (148'-07) and
hammer (185'-01") competition. Sophomore Nick
White (Westbrook, Conn.) placed second in the discus
(121'-06") and third in the hammer (146'-02").
Junior Dan Colina (Dover, N.H.) was second in
the javelin (177'-06").
On the track, sophomore Corey Loonan (Sandwich,
Mass.) won the 3,000-meter steeplechase race with a time of
9:40.45.
