Tiffani Brooks (Salem, Conn.) threw down a career
19 kills to lead the Keene State women's volleyball team to a 3-0
Little East Conference victory over host Eastern Connecticut State
University, giving the Owls a split of their LEC tri-match at
Willimantic on Saturday.
Keene State (7-8, 2-2 LEC) lost its earlier match to
UMass-Boston 3-0.
The Owls defeated the Warriors in three close games 25-21,
26-24, and 27-25. Bridget O'Bryant
(Merrimack, N.H.) had 10 kills, Ellyse Davis
(Londonderry, N.H.) added nine kills and seven blocks, and
Laurie Whalen (Niantic, Conn.).finished with a
career best 26 digs.
"The win keeps us in the mix for a first round home Little East
Tournament game," said KSC coach Bob Weiner.
In a rematch of last year's LEC final, UMB defeated the Owls
25-17, 25-16, and 25-21. O'Bryant had 10 kills and Jordan
Pokryfki (Wasilla, Alaska) added 28 assists in the losing
effort.
Keene State is at Emerson College on Tuesday.
