WENHAM, MASS. 9/5/09 - The Keene State women's volleyball
team won two of its three matches at the Gordon (Mass.) College
Tournament on Saturday.
The Owls (2-2) opened the day by losing to MIT 3-0 (18-25,
23-25, and 14-25). Sophomore Bridget
O'Bryant (Merrimack, N.H.) led KSC with 11 kills.
Keene State came back to sweep its next two matches, defeating
Gordon 3-0 (25-16, 25-18, and 25-15) and Wheaton College 3-0
(25-11, 25-17, and 25-21).
In the match against Gordon, sophomore Elyse
Davis (Londonderry, N.H.) had nine kills; sophomore
Tiffani Brooks (Salem, Conn.) added eight kills
and seven digs, and junior Sammy Datti (Durham,
N.H.) finished with a career high 17 digs.
Davis and O'Bryant each had nine kills in the win over
Wheaton. Brooks contributed seven kills and nine digs and
Datti had 13 digs.
Senior setter Jordan Pokryfki (Wasilla, Alaska)
was named to the All-Tournament team.
Keene State plays its first home match of the season against
Westfield State (7 p.m.) on Tuesday at Spaulding Gym.
