HANOVER, N.H.
1/10/10 - Keene State junior Bryan Kolacz (Brentwood,
N.H.) posted an NCAA Division III Championship qualifying
mark in the #35 weight throw event at the 41st Dartmouth Relays in
Hanover, N.H. on Sunday.
Kolacz, who qualified in the event last year and won the hammer
throw at the outdoor nationals, placed third in the weight throw
with a mark of 60'-02.00". He was also 10th in the shot-put
(45'-0.375").
On the track, junior Tim Pipp (New Ipswich, N.H.)
finished 4th in the 5,000-meter race with a time of 16:07.33 and
senior Jared Samuel (Londonderry, N.H.) was 15th
(4:30.29) out of a field of 47 runners in the mile.
Keene State tallied 20 points to finish six in the eight-team field
Host Dartmouth won the championship with 94 points.
In the women's competition, junior Allison Chamberlain
(Scarborough, Maine.) recorded a NCAA provisional
qualifying time (2:14.63) in the 800-meter race. She also
placed fifth in the 400 with a time of 59.51.
In other races, sophomore Haley Lydstone (Bedford,
N.H.) placed 11th in the 3,000-meter race (10:59.13) and
junior Amy Knoblock (Plymouth, Mass.) was 15th
(5:28.17) out of 40 runners in the mile.
Keene State had 16 points to finish fifth in team scoring.
Northeastern won the team title with 157 points.
The Owls compete next Saturday at the Tufts Invitational.
