SPRINGFIELD, MASS. 11/20/10 – Keene State College
swim teams had mixed results in a tri-meet against Springfield
College and Wheaton College on Saturday.
The KSC men remained undefeated (3-0) by defeating Springfield
College (208-92) and Wheaton College (228-72) while the Owl women
(0-4) lost to Springfield (206-93) and Wheaton (163-130).
The Owl men, who prevailed in 13 of the 15 swim events, were led
by freshman Drew Ledwith
(Keene, N.H.) who won the 400 I.M. (4:12.88), the 500 free
(4:49.20) and the 1,000 free (9:25.48). Both his 400 IM and
1,000 times were school records.
Freshman Jared Hyde
(Tolland, Conn.), sophomore Marc Marois
(Derry, N.H.) and senior Cody
Larrimore (Trappe, Md.) were double winners. Hyde won the 100
free (47.56) and 200 free (1:45.22), Marois came in first in the
100 breast (1:04.21) and the 200 breast (2:19.97) and Larrimore
topped the field in the 50 free (21.48) and the 100 fly
(51.87). In addition, senior Connor
Pennoyer (Norwalk, Conn.) won the 200 fly (2:01.18) and junior
Justin
Churchill (North Springfield, Vt.) touched the wall first in
the 200 back (2:03.28).
Freshman James Black
(Lynn, Mass.) teamed up with Hyde, Larrimore, and Pennoyer to win
the 400 medley relay (3:36.85) and sophomore Austin Harris
(Essex Junction, Vt.) joined Pennoyer, Black and Larrimore to win
the 200 free relay (1:27.48).
The Keene State women won two races. Junior Maureen
O'Leary (Nashua, N.H.) won the 200 fly (2:11.76) and freshman
Stephanie Murray (Haverhill, Mass.) won the 200 back (2:13.96).
