EAST MEADOW, N.Y. 12/5/10 – The Keene State men tallied a program best 1,108.50 points to finish third at the ECAC Winter Swimming Championships held this weekend at the Nassau County Aquatics Center in East Meadow, N.Y. Stevens Institute of Technology won the team title with 2,003.50 points. The Owls set eight school records at the meet, including five by freshman Drew Ledwith (Keene, N.H.).
Ledwith, who finished third in total individual points (113 points) and senior Cody Larrimore (Trappe, Md.), who was sixth with 108.50 points, continued their strong performances in Sunday's final day of competition. Larrimore won the 50 free (21.06) and Ledwith posted an NCAA provisional qualifying time and set a meet and school record with a second place finish in the 500 free (4:33.99). Junior Dan Morse (Hope, R.I.) placed fifth in the 500 free (4:49.41). Freshman Jared Hyde (Tolland, Conn.) took seventh in the 200 I.M. (1:57.66).
The Owls also shined in relays. The 400 medley relay team of senior Connor Pennoyer (Norwalk, Conn.), freshman James Black (Lynn, Mass.), Hyde and Larrimore finished second with a time of 3:30.92. Sophomore Austin Harris (Essex Junction, Vt.) joined Black, Hyde, and Pennoyer to finish fourth in the 400 free relay (3:11.87).
Sophomore Derek Peabody (Haverhill, Mass.) placed fourth in the three-meter diving event with 352.10 points.
