GORHAM, MAINE. 2/13/10 - Keene State juniors Allison Chamberlain (Scarborough, Maine) and Bryan Kolacz (Brentwood, N.H.) performed well at the 13th Annual New England Alliance Track and Field Championships held at the Costello Field house in Gorham, Maine on Saturday.
Chamberlain had a big day on the track for the Owls, wining the 400-meter race in a meet record and NCAA provisional qualifying time of 58.53. She also won the 3,000 (10:28.89), and teamed with junior Amy Knoblock (Plymouth, Mass.), sophomore Sarah Titus (Derry, N.H.), and freshman Maggie Fitter (Branford, Conn.) to win the 4x400 relay (4:11.66).
Kolacz won the weight throw with a mark of 58'-02.50". He was also fourth in the shot-put (46'-05.25').
On the track for the KSC women, Knoblock placed second in the 600 (1:40.77) and third in the 1,000 (3:13.08) and Fitter was second in the 800 (2:22.83) and the mile (5:14.38).
The Keene State women finished second in the LEC standings with 104 points and fourth in the Alliance with 79.50 points.
Southern Maine captured its 10th straight LEC women's championship with 212 points and ninth consecutive Alliance title with 154 points.
Junior Tim Pipp (New Ipswich, N.H.) had the best performance by the Owl men on the track, placing fourth in the 3,000 (8:55.64). Sophomore Corey Loonan (Sandwich, Mass.) was fifth in the 800 (2:01.82).
In men's team scoring, KSC was fourth in the LEC standings with 53 points and seventh in the Alliance with 31 points. The USM men had 171 points to win its fifth Alliance title and 210 points to win the LEC championship for the seventh time.
