Westfield, Mass. 9/7/10 – The Keene State
College volleyball team fell to Westfield State 3-0 (25-23, 25-19,
25-23) on Tuesday night in non-conference action. The loss drops
the Owls to 3-2 on the season, while the win improves Westfield
State to 2-2 on the season.
"Westfield State played fantastic defense tonight and that was
the difference," said KSC head coach Bob Weiner.
Leading the way for KSC was junior Kristen Girard
(Tivoli, N.Y.) with nine kills and nine digs on the night.
Juniors Braelan O'Toole
(Derry, N.H.) and Madison McHugh
(New Hyde Park, N.Y.) each added three blocks for
the visitors, while senior captain Sammy Datti
(Durham, N.H.) had 20 digs in the loss.
The Owls return to action this weekend, as they will travel to
Providence, R.I. to play in the Johnson & Wales tournament and
face Bridgewater State, Conn. College, Johnson & Wales and
Wheaton College on Friday and Saturday.
