MIDDLETOWN, CONN. 1/22/11 – The Keene State College women's track team won three races at the Wesleyan Invitational in Middletown, Conn. on Saturday.
Sophomore Maggie Fitter (Branford, Conn.) won the 600 (1:40.98), senior Amy Knoblock (Plymouth, Mass.) won the 800 (2:19:08), and junior Andrea Walsh (Bolton, Conn.) win the 3,000 with a time of 10:49.04. Fitter also place third in the 1,000 (3:13.14) and junior Sarah Titus (Derry, N.H.) was third in the 800.
In women's field events, junior Melissa Small (Saco, Me.) was second in the shot put (38'-01.25) and sophomore Janel Haggerty (Guilford, Conn.) was tied for third in the high jump (5'-00.25"). Sophomore Whitney Cyr (Milford, Mass.) took fourth in the shot with a mark of 34'-06.25."
In the men's field events, senior Bryan Kolacz (Brenwood, N.H.) won the weight throw with a distance of 57'-04.75"). He was also third in the shot put (45'-10.50"). Freshman Evan Miller (Granville, N.Y.) was tied for third in the high jump (5'-09.25").
On the track, senior Corey Loonan (Sandwich, Mass.) placed second in the 600 (1:25.85) and fourth in the 1,000 (2:39.23). Senior Eric MacKnight (Newtown, Conn.) also was third in the 3,000 (9:06.19).
