BOSTON, MASS. 1/29/11 – A NCAA Division III Championship provisional qualifying time in the distance medley relay highlighted Keene State's second day of competition at Boston University's Terrier Classic on Saturday.
The team of senior Amy Knoblock (Plymouth, Mass.), junior Sarah Titus (Derry, N.H.) and sophomores Maggie Fitter (Branford, Conn.) and Janel Haggerty (Guilford, Conn.) finished fifth in the DMR with a time of 12:06.51. On Friday, Knoblock posted a NCAA provisional qualifying time in the mile (4:59.10).
In field events, Steven George (Chicago, Ill.), a junior transfer from the University of Southern Alabama, placed fifth in the long jump with a mark of 22'-0.175".
"Just about everybody set a season best time or mark," said KSC Coach Peter Thomas. "It was a good step forward."
Keene State competes at the Dartmouth Invitational next Saturday.
