HANOVER, N.H. 1/9/11 – Keene State College got back on the track at the 42nd Dartmouth Relays at the Laverone Field House in Hanover, N.H. on Sunday.
Senior Tim Pipp (New Ipswich, N.H.) finished third in the 5,000-meter race with a time of 15:39.15. Sophomore Tom Paquette (Bolton, Conn.) was right behind him, placing fourth (15:55.21).
The Owls' 4x400 relay of senior Corey Loonan (Sandwich, Mass.), juniors Greg Hall (Nottingham, N.H.) sophomore Doug Dombrowik (Fitzwilliam, N.H.) and freshman Ryan Widzgowski (Camden, Maine) finished eighth with a time of 3:40.31.
In field events, senior Bryan Kolacz (Brentwood, N.H.) placed third in the weight throw (57'-03.50") and ninth in the shot-put (48'-02.50").
Keene State finished sixth in the team standings with 15.20 points. Northeastern won the team championship with 119.20 points.
The KSC women had a couple of strong performances in relay races. The Owl distance medley relay squad of senior Amy Knoblock (Plymouth, Mass.), junior Sarah Titus (Derry, N.H.), and sophomores Janel Haggerty (Guilford, Conn.) and Maggie Fitter (Branford, Conn.) finished third (13:19.70). The same group teamed up to place eighth in the 4x400 relay with a time of 4:30.41. Haggerty also placed fourth in the high jump with an ECAC Championship qualifying mark of 5'-4.25".
The Owl women tallied 11 points to place 12th in team scoring. The host Big Green won the meet with 107 points.
