BOSTON, MASS. 2/26/11 – Keene State College set two school
records at the New England Track and Field Championships at Boston
University on Saturday.
Senior Bryan Kolacz (Brentwood, N.H.) set a new
Owl mark with his eighth place finish (50'-04.50”) in
the shot-put event.
The team of senior Amy Knoblock (Plymouth,
Mass.) juniors Paige Mills (Keene, N.H.), and
Sarah Titus (Derry, N.H.) and sophomore
Maggie Fitter (Branford, Conn.) put their name in
the KSC record book with their fifth place finish (9:16.72) in the
4x800 relay. The previous record of 9:28.70 was set in
2003.
In other races, Knoblock placed sixth in the mile with a time of
4:54.14 and senior Jared Samuel (Londonderry,
N.H.) took seventh in the 3,000-meter event.
The Keene State women finished 13th with 19 points while the Owl
men placed 16th in the team standings with 17 points. UConn
won both the men's and women's championships.
