DARTMOUTH, N.H. 02/05/11 – Keene State College senior Amy Knoblock (Plymouth, Mass.) won two events to lead the Owls at the 2011 Dartmouth Indoor Classic.
Knoblock, who had already hit the provisional mark in the mile, improved her time by almost two seconds to win the mile event in 4:58.10. Later in the day, the senior won the 1000 meter race in a time of 3:01.19 for her two victories.
Also for the women, sophomore Maggie Fitter (Branford, Conn.) placed fourth in the 800 meter race with a finishing time of 2:24.20. In the field events, sophomore Janel Haggerty (Guilford, Conn.) leaped to a fourth place finish in the high jump (5'-2.25'').
For the men, senior Bryan Kolacz (Brentwood, N.H.) won the weight throw with a toss of 61'-7.5''. The Brentwood, N.H. native also finished third in the shot put, improving his school record to 49'-10''.
On the track, senior Jared Samuel (Londonderry, N.H.) placed third in the 3000 meter race in a time of 8:47.96.
The Owls will return to the track on Saturday, when they will head to Southern Maine for the Little East Conference Championship.
