Box Score HARTFORD, Conn. 9/21/11 – The Keene State College field hockey team saw their three game win-streak snapped on Wednesday night, with a 2-0 loss to the No. 15 ranked Trinity College Bantams. With the loss the Owls drop to 5-2 on the season, while the Bantams improve to 4-1 on the campaign.
The Owls were outshot 14-6 for the contest with 11 of Trinity's shots coming in the second half. The Bantams also had an edge in corners with 10 to KSC's five.
Junior midfielder Haley Thompson (Ipswich, Mass.) put the Bantams on the scoreboard at the 20:31 mark of the first half, off assists from sophomore Sarah Duncan (Dedham, Mass.) and Alana Capasso (Weston, Mass.) for the 1-0 lead.
Trinity added another goal, with just 16 seconds left in the first half, as sophomore forward Paige Duke (Dedham, Mass.) scored on an assist from Thompson for the 2-0 Bantam victory.
KSC freshman goalkeeper Caitlin Davino-Draper (Hanover, Mass.) had six saves for the Owls in the losing effort. Senior goalie Gina Dinallo (West Hartford, Conn.) set aside five shots for the shutout victory.
Keene State returns to action on Saturday, as they will travel to Gorham, Maine to face conference-rival Southern Maine at noon.
