Box Score KEENE, N.H. 10/27/12 – The Keene State College field hockey team celebrated Senior Day with a 4-0 Little East Conference shutout victory over Framingham State University at Owl Athletic Complex on Saturday.
Already locked into third in the LEC standings, the Owls (13-7, 9-2 LEC) will host sixth seed Salem State in a LEC quarterfinal game on Tuesday (6 p.m.).
Framingham State concludes its season with a 10-8 (3-8 LEC) record.
The Owls scored two goals in each half. Junior Katlyn Simula (Bridgewater, N.H.) and sophomore Melissa Habelow (Belmont, Mass.) found the back on the net on penalty corner goals to give KSC a 2-0 halftime lead.
Freshmen Lyndsie Rabenius (North Hampton, N.H.) and Haylie Dolan (West Brookfield, Mass.) scored second half goals for the Owls.
Keene State had a wide advantage in shots (29-6) and penalty corner opportunities (12-5) in the game.
Sophomore Caitlin Davino-Draper (Hanover, Mass.) and freshman Chloe Audesse (Goffstown, N.H.) shared the shutout in goal for KSC. Davino-Draper didn't record a save in the first half and Audesse stopped two shots in the second half.
Senior Sarah Ryan (Uxbridge, Mass.) finished the game with 13 saves for the Rams.
Prior to the game, Keene State honors its three seniors; twin sisters Alex and Kalin Billert (North Conway, N.H.) and Katie Foyle (Salem, N.H.)
