Box Score 2 WALTHAM, MASS 10/27/12.—The Keene State College women's volleyball team split its two matches at the Brandeis University Judges Classic on the Auerbach Court in Waltham, Mass. on Saturday.
Keene State (17-15) began the day by falling to host Brandeis 3-1 (20-25, 22-25, 25-18, 21-25).
Freshman Angela Silveri (Poughquag, N.Y.) had 19 kills, becoming just the second freshmen at KSC to eclipse the 300 kill milestone. Sophomore Sammy Dormio (Leesburg, Va.) finished with 14 kills, 10 digs and two service aces while freshman setter Alexis Michal (Windham, N.H.) had a season high 45 assists.
In its final match of the day, Keene State swept Westfield State 3-0 (25-17, 25-17, 25-16). Freshman Olivia Broderick (Gilford, N.H.) led the Owls' offense with 10 kills. Dormio had another fine match with eight kills, four service aces, and 10 digs. Michal finished with 36 assists in the match.
Keene State will be the third seed in the upcoming Little East tournament and host sixth seed Plymouth State in a quarterfinal match at Spaulding Gym on Tuesday (6 p.m.).
