WALTHAM, MASS 12/7/12 – Freshman Lauren Markoe (Lagrangeville, N.Y.) won the 800-meter race at the Reggie Poyau Invitational at Brandeis University on Friday night. Markoe won the race with a time of 2:24.89. Junior Brianna Enderson (Manchester, N.H.) was second in the race, finishing with a time of 2:27.85.
In other races, junior Marie Whiney (Jaffrey, N.H.) placed third in the 3,000 (10:53.73).
In field events, junior Sarah Ditonno (Wakefield, Mass.) finished second in the weight throw (39'-00.25") and freshman Lucia Martin (Swanzey, N.H.) took second in the pole vault (9'-00.25").
UMass-Lowell won the women's title with 223 points. Keene State finished third with 59 points.
Junior Ryan Widzgowski (Camden, Maine) and sophomore Ben Keach (Newfield, N.H.) each posted third place finishes for the Keene State men's team. Widzgowski was third in the 3,000 (8:45.92) and Keach placed third in the shot-put with a throw of 46'-04.75").
KSC finished sixth in the eight-team field with 24 points. Stonehill College won the men's championship with 141 points.
Keene State is back on the track Sunday Jan. 6 when it competes at the Dartmouth invitational.
