HANOVER, N.H. 2/4/12 – The Keene State College track and field teams competed Saturday at the 2012 Dartmouth Indoor Classic, hosted by Dartmouth College, at the Leverone Fieldhouse.

Sophomore Ryan Widzgowski (Camden, Maine) led the men with a fourth place finish in the 800 meters, in a time of 2:01.61. Junior Brett Mastrangelo (Millis, Mass.) finished right behind him, just getting beat out at the finish line in a time of 2:01.66 for a fifth place finish.

Widzgowski also turned in the fasted time for the Owls in the mile, crossing the finish line in 4:25.40 for a 12 place finish.

In the field events, Sarbjit Singh (Lebanon, N.H.) finished fifth in the triple jump, with a leap of 40'-4.75''. Freshman shot-putter Ben Keach (Newfields, N.H.) took home seventh with a toss of 45'-3'' and also finished 11th in the weight throw with a heave of 40'-7.75''.

In the 4x 400 relay, the team of Doug Dombrowik (Fitzwilliam, N.H.), Singh, Mastrangelo and Elias Grijalva (Manchester, N.H.) took fifth place in a time of 3:38.52.

For the women, sophomore Brianna Enderson (Manchester, N.H.) finished ninth in the 1,000 meter run in a time of 3:15.02.

Freshman Melanie Escalante (New Canaan, Conn.) finished 10th in the 800 meter race, with a time of 2:25.48.

Also earning a top-10 finish on the track, sophomore Erin Crawford (Townsend, Mass.) crossed the finish line in 11:13.83 in the 3,000 meter race for a 10th place finish.

Freshman jumper Carley O'Brien (Kittery, Maine) finished ninth in the triple jump (32'-11.75'') and 10th in the long jump (15'-5'') to round out the top ten finished for the Owls.

Next weekend, KSC returns to the track at the Little East Conference Championships, hosted by Southern Maine on Saturday.
