BRONX, N.Y 3/3/12 – Five Owls earned All-ECAC honors at the ECAC Division III Track and Field Championships held at the Armory in Bronx, N.Y. this weekend. 

Junior Janel Haggerty (Guilford, Conn.) finished fourth in the pentathlon with 3,121 points.  Freshman Melanie Escalante (New Canaan, Conn.) placed fourth in the 500 (1:17.87).  Senior Sarah Titus (Derry, N.H.), sophomore Emily LaPlant (Hudson, N.H.) and freshman Mary Dematteo (Northford, Conn.)  joined Escalante for a fifth place finish in the 4x800 relay (9:37.62).

Sophomore Ryan Widzgowski (Camden, Me.) had a top performance for the Keene State men's team, a 14th place finish in the mile (4:19.57).

The Keene State women finished 20th in the team scoring with 14 points.  MIT won the championship with 56.33 points.

Bates College captured the men's title with 69 points.
