Box Score WESTFIELD, MASS. 9/5/12 – Keene State College came from behind to defeat Westfield State University 3-2 in non-conference women's volleyball action on Wednesday night.
Posting their first win of the season, the KSC Owls fell behind 2-0 (19-25 and 22-25) and even faced match point (26-25) in the third game before rallying to win the last three games (28-26, 25-12, and 15-13).
"We started to play like we're supposed to play," said KSC Coach Bob Weiner about the teams' turnaround.. "We didn't do anything in the first two games."
Freshman hitter Angela Silveri (Poughquag, N.Y) had 11 kills and junior Jess Cornman-Homonoff (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and freshman Kaylee Deluga (Dennis, Mass.) each fins with nine kills to lead the Owl offense. Sophomore Sammy Dormio (Leesburg, Va.) had a career high 32 digs.
Keene State (1-2) faces Conn. College at the Johnson and Wales tournament on Friday night.
