Box Score 2 PROVIDENCE, R.I. 9/7/12 - The Keene State College women's volleyball team split its two matches at the Johnson & Wales University tournament in Providence on Friday night.
The Owls dropped its opening match to Conn. College 3-0 (25-13, 25-10 and 25-17) and won its second match 3-1 over Wheaton College (25-16, 25-15, 21-25, and 25-13).
Junior Meryl Ragaini (Seymour, Conn.) had five kills and freshman Angela Silveri (Poughquag, N.Y.) finished with four kills against Conn. College. Freshman Alexis Michal (Windham, N.H.) added 10 digs.
Silveri had 13 kills and sophomore Samantha Branning (Glastonbury, Conn.) chipped with 11 kills against Wheaton. Freshman Kaylee Deluga (Dennis, Mass.) has a strong effort with 10 kills and three service aces.
Sophomore Sammy Dormio (Leesburg, Va.) led the defense with 10 digs while freshman setter Haley Willumsen (Shelter Island, N.Y.) finished with 25 assists.
On Saturday, Keene State (2-3) takes on host Johnson and Wales at 10 a.m. and Springfield College at 2 p.m.
