Box Score 2 SCHENECTADY, N.Y. 10/12/13- The Keene State College women's volleyball team dropped both of its matches at Union College in Schenectady, N.Y. on Saturday.
Keene State lost its opening match 3-0 to Skidmore College (19-25, 19-25 and 23-25) then dropped a tough five set match to Union 3-2 (25-19, 22-25, 25-18, 17-25 and 6-15).
The Owls, who have lost four of their last five matches, fall to 12-10.
Sophomore Angela Silveri (Poughquag, N.Y.) led the Owls against Union with 14 kills, four service aces and 12 digs. Classmate Catherine Kazazian (Merrimack, N.H.) also had a fine overall match with 10 kills and six digs.
Defensively, junior Sammy Dormio (Leesburg, Va.) had 25 digs while sophomore setter Alexis Michal (Windham, N.H.) finished with 33 assists.
Sophomore Christine Hadfield (Waterford, Conn.) had a strong match against Skidmore, finishing with 11 kills one service ace, nine digs and one block. Classmate Madeline Nossiff (Portsmouth, N.H.) also had 10 kill and two blocks. Sophomore Kaitlin Boyer (West Greenwich, R.I.) added 14 digs while Michal chipped in with 25 assists.
Keene State hopes to get back on the winning track when it hosts Western Conn. State in a key Little East Conference match on Tuesday (7 p.m.) at Spaulding Gym.
