Owls drop two matches at Trinity College

HARTFORD, CONN. 10/5/13 – The Keene State College women's volleyball team lost two matches at Trinity College on Saturday.

The Owls (11-8) began the day by dropping a 3-1 match to Middlebury College. After winning the first set 28-26, the Owls came up shots in the next three games 13-25, 17-25 and 22-25.

Sophomore Madeline Nossiff (Portsmouth, N.H.) led the Owls with 11 kills, three digs, and four blocks.  Classmate Angela Silveri (Poughquag, N.Y.) contributed 11 kills and seven digs while junior Sammy Dormio (Leesburg, Va.) finished with seven kills, one service ace and seven digs. Sophomore Kaitlin Boyer (West Greenwich. R.I.) also had 18 digs.

Sophomore Alexis Michal (Windham, N.H.) with13 assists and freshman Brooke Bell (Melrose, Mass.) with 12 assists shared the setting duties.

In its second match, Keene State lost to host Trinity in three close games (25-27, 20-25 and 23-25).  Nossiff led a balanced offense with seven kills.  Sophomore Cat Kazazian (Merrimack, N.H.) added six kills, and three digs, and Silveri finished with six kills, one service ace, and five digs.

Defensively, Boyer had a team high 15 digs while classmate Olivia Broderick (Gilford, N.H.) finished with three blocks.

KSC once again split the setting chores with Michal having 13 assists and Bell getting 12 sets.

Keene State travels to Plymouth State University on Tuesday for a key Little East Conference match against the Panthers.
