Box Score KEENE, N.H. 11/2/13 – The Keene State College women's volleyball team wrapped up its regular season by sweeping Rhode Island College 3-0 in a Little East Conference match played Saturday at Spaulding Gym.
Riding a season high six match winning streak, Keene State (19-12, 6-1 LEC) will be the second seed in the LEC tournament and receive a first-round bye. The Owls will host a semifinal game on Saturday (3 p.m.) against the winner of the match between #3 Plymouth State and #6 Southern Maine. The Anchorwomen complete their season with a 3-26 overall record and a 0-7 mark in conference play.
The Owls defeated the Anchorwomen in straight sets 25-11, 25-15 and 25-14. Sophomore Madeline Nossiff (Portsmouth, N.H.) led the Owls with a match high 14 kills to go with three block assists. Classmate Angela Silveri (Poughquag, N.Y.) had nine kills, five digs and two blocks.
Junior Sammy Dormio (Leesburg, Va.) and sophomore Alexis Michal (Windham, N.H.) each had seven digs. Michal also had 21 assists. Sophomore Kaitlin Boyer (West Greenwich, R.I.) had three service aces.
Senior Amanda Cabral (Riverside, R.I.) led RIC with six kills. Freshman Nicole Thibodaux (Loxahatchee, Fla.) had six digs and sophomore setter Emma Cajthaml (El Cajon, Va.) finished with 12 assists.
