Tuller (Plainview N.Y.) finished first and freshman
Kelly Gilmore (Dedham, Mass.) placed third in the
three-meter diving competition of the New England Intercollegiate
Swimming and Diving Association (NEISDA) Championships at Plymouth
State University on Sunday.
Tuller won the event with a NCAA Regional qualifying and school
record mark of 451.60 points - beating his personal best mark by 90
points. “My three-meter was a lot better than my
one-meter performance,” said Tuller who was named male diver
of the meet. “The weekend didn't start out to well, but
it was a real nice ending.”
Looking to become the first KSC male diver to earn an NCAA
berth, Tuller will compete at the New England regional diving
competition March 1-2 at Springfield College.
Gilmore placed third in the women's competition with
340.85 points. Fellow freshman Shannon
Summers (Keene, N.H.) was sixth with 321.90 points.
Katie Sterpka, a sophomore from Westfield State, won the
women's competition with 426.35 points.
With the 50 event NEISDA Championships completed, Keene State
won the men's title with 1,039 points while the Owls captured
the women's crown with 1,692 points. It's the fifth
NEISDA championship for the KSC women and the fourth title for the
Owl men. It's also the first time since 2010 that the Owls
have won both men's and women's championships.
