Tuller comes up short in bid for NCAA diving berth

SPRINGFIELD, MASS.  3/2/13 – Keene State College junior Josh Tuller (Plainview, N.Y.) came up short in his bid to qualify for the NCAA Division III Diving championships.

Competing at the NCAA Division III Regional Diving Championships at Springfield College this weekend, Tuller placed 15 out 18 competitors in the one-meter event with 381.80 points on Saturday.  On Friday, he tallied 398.30 points to finish 16 out of 18 divers in the three-meter competition.

Johann Schmidt, a junior from Tufts University won both one-meter (543.20 points) and three-meter (588.95 points).

Tuller was hoping to join Diana Robbins as the only Keene State divers to qualify for a national championship meet.  Robbins, a 1984 KSC grad and a member of College's Hall of Fame, competed at two AIAW meets and two NCAA Division II Championships during her four-year (1980-84) career.
