Box Score 1 KEENE, N.H. 4/10/13 - The Keene State College softball got home runs from seniors Meryl Ragaini (Seymour, Conn.) and Nicole Dupuis (Fitchburg, Mass.) and freshman Morgan Fallon (Reading, Mass.) en route to a 8-1 first-game victory over Williams College at Owl Athletic Complex on Wednesday. The second game was suspended after four innings due to rain with the Owls leading 4-2.
Keene State (9-8) has won four of its last five games. Williams College falls to 7-15 with the loss.
Ragaini began the home run parade with a solo shot to center field, her team-leading fifth of the season in the top of the first inning.
Back-to-back RBI singles by senior Jessica Fiorenza (Wakefield, Mass.) and Fallon in the third inning made it a 3-0 game.
In the fifth, Fallon belted her first college home run, a three-run blast to left center to give KSC a 6-1 lead. It was awesome," said Fallon, who finished the game with two hits and four RBIs. "I was hoping it would go out. As I was running I kept screaming keep going, keep going. It's definitely the most exciting moment of my career so far."
Freshman Anna Glassman (East Granby, Conn.) added an RBI single later in the inning to extend the Owls' lead to 7-1.
Dupuis homered in the bottom of the sixth inning for KSC's final run.
Freshman Stephanie Long (Salem, N.H.) and Fiorenza also had two hits in the game for the Owls.
Junior Theresa Legan (Milford, Conn.), the Ephs leadoff hitter, had three of Williams College's five hits in the game.
Freshman Mariah Crisp (Greenland, N.H.) got the complete game win for Keene State, improving her record to 7-3. She allowed one run on five hits with five strikeouts and two walks.
Senior Megan Casey (Greenwood Village, Co.) took the loss for the Ephs. Keene State fell behind 2-0 in the second game. Junior Ally Ensor (Sugar Land, TX.) had a RBI double in the first and a run-scoring single in the third inning.
Keene State score all four of its runs in the bottom of the fourth inning before the game was suspended. Fiorenza cracked a solo shot to get the Owls on the board. Freshman Sarah Nichols (Sturbridge, Mass.) had a two-run triple to left center and later scored on a wild pitch.
Legan and Ensor had two hits each for Williams in the game.
Sophomore Kellie Saunders (East Hartford, Conn.) started for the Owls in the circle. She pitched four innings, giving up two runs on five hits.
Sophomore Emma Harrington (Columbus, OH.) was the starting pitcher for Williams.
Keene State hosts Westfield State in a non-conference doubleheader on Thursday.
