AMHERST, MASS. 4/13/13 – Senior Maggie Fitter (Branford, Conn.) and junior Marie Whitney (Jaffrey, N.H.) turned in the top performance by the KSC women at the UMass-Amherst Invitational track meet on Saturday.
Fitter finished second in the 1,500 (4:36.61). and Whitney placed second in the 10K (39:57.64). Junior Erin Duffy (Merrimack, N.H.) also placed fourth in the 10K (41.06.13).
KSC finished 10th in the team standings with 30 points. UConn. won the women's title with 108 points.
Keene State junior Ryan Widzgowski (Camden, Maine) won the 800-meter race, posting a winning time of 1:53.33.
Senior Thomas Paquette (Bolton, Conn.) placed third in the 5,000 (15:01.95).
In field events, sophomore Ben Keach (Newfield, N.H.) finished second in the discus (141'-11"). Junior Angus Fisher (Northampton, Mass.) was fifth (135'-08"). Senior Dante Hill (Longmeadow, Mass.) also placed fifth in the shot put (45'-05.00").
KSC placed 11th in the team standings with 41 points. Northeastern captured the team title with 110.50 points.
