Owls Knock Off Worcester State 3-1

KEENE, N.H. - The Keene State volleyball team dropped their first set, but swept the next three for a 3-1 victory over Worcester State in their final home match of the season. The Owls won by set scores of 21-25, 25-20, 25-14, 25-18. 

The win lifts KSC to 18-15 while the Lancer fall to 21-7. 

Madeleine Nossiff and Angela Silveri were outstanding along the net for Keene State as they combined for 32 kills. Nossiff recorded a .464 hitting percentage while Silveri hit .366 and added 14 digs. Samantha Branning added nine kills, two assists, two digs and two block assists. Brooke Bell and Alexis Michal directed the offense as they totaled 47 assists for Keene State.

For the Lancers, Alyssa Jasper led her team with 16 kills while Jamika Townsend recorded a double-double of 10 kills and 14 digs. Amanda Lewis registered a double-double of her own with 33 assists and 18 digs. 

Before the match, head coach Bob Weiner honored senior Samantha Branning, for playing in her final home game and Angela Silveri for reaching 1,000 career kills. 

The Owls finish the regular season Saturday when they travel to Rhode Island College for a tri-match against the Anchormen (12 p.m.) and Eastern Nazarene (2 p.m.). Worcester State travels to Salem State for a tri-match against the host Vikings and Gordon College.
