Box Score BIDDEFORD, Maine – Keene State College outscored Wellesley College 46-15 after halftime to take a 74-35 win in the consolation game of the 2014 Ramada Roundball Invitational hosted by the University of New England at the Harold Alfond Forum.
Keene State first-year guard Sandi Purcell led all scorers with 23 points, including seven 3-pointers. She made five treys after halftime. Senior Christan Wojtas nailed five 3's and finished with 16 points, while junior Kelsey Cognetta tossed in 11 points. First-year Kelsey Santagata added eight points and was named to the all-tournament team.
For the game the Owls converted 14 of 32 attempts from beyond the arc. Sophomore Sarah Kober had a game-high nine rebounds for Keene State, which doubled-up (42-21) Wellesley in that category.
Senior all-tourney pick Morgyne Weaver was one of two Blue players in double figures, scoring 11 points to go with six rebounds. Junior Chelsi Scott added 10 points and three steals.
The Owls return to Spaulding for their home opener against No. 2 Amherst Tuesday at 6 p.m.
