Box Score KEENE, N.H.- Christan Wojtas tied her career high with 26 points as the Keene State College women's basketball team won the opening game of the KSC Holiday Tournament over Anna Maria College 68-43 Tuesday afternoon at Spaulding Gymnasium.
The Owls improve to 6-3, while the AMCATS dip to 3-7 on the season.
Wojtas jumpstarted the Owls offense as she drained treys on three straight possessions for a 11-4 lead 2:47 into the game. Keene State closed the half on a 19-4 run to take a 29-14 score into halftime.
Roberts' layup gave the Owls a 20 points lead (45-25) with 10:25 remaining, but the AMCATS went on a run that saw them come within 11 points on Brandi Pasternack's 3-pointer with 7:15 remaining. KSC then put the game away as they put together a 11-2 run over the next 2:17.
Kelsey Cognetta had a complete game with 14 points, four rebounds and five assists and Courtney Roberts was a major contributor off the bench to add 10 points and five rebounds.
Trafficia Warburton led the AMCATS with nine points and 10 rebounds, while Kristina Russo added 10 points and four boards.
Keene State forced 22 turnovers and held a significant advantage in rebounds, 49-33.
KSC will face William Paterson for the KSC Holiday Tournament title tomorrow at 2 pm. Anna Maria will play Regis College in the consolation game at 12 pm.
