Box Score SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - A goal with 13:24 remaining in the contest pushed Springfield College over the Keene State College field hockey team Tursday evening at Stagg Field.
The Owls fall to 2-2 on the year, while the Pride remain unbeaten at 3-0.
Katie Gill fired a pass through the crease that snuck its way past a group of Keene State defenders, to Linnea Quist, who was waiting to fire a shot into the net on the backside of the cage to give the Pride a 1-0 advantage in the closing minutes.
Keene State had five corner opportunies in the second half, but were unable to convert.
Shauna Whittemore finished the game with three saves for Keene State, while Timarie Villa claimed her third victory of the season, making two stops.
Springfield outshot the Owls 8-4 as KSC only managed to get two shots on goal.
The Owls begin Little East Conference play when they travel to Fitchburg State Saturday at 10 a.m.
