Box Score PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Keene State women's volleyball team placed second at the Johnson & Wales Invitational Saturday afternoon after a 3-0 (19-25, 23-25, 11-25) defeat to Amherst College.
Angela Silveri was named to the All-Tournament Team along with Marialexis Natsis (Most Outstanding Player) and Katie Warshaw from Amherst, Kellen Tensen and Alyssa Drapeau from Johnson & Wales and Grayson Szczepaniak from University of New England.
For the Owls (4-8), Silveri and Samantha Branning combined to record 11 kills, Brooke Bell totaled nine assists and Leslie Hearns gathered a team-high 17 digs.
Lizzie Ahern and Maggie Danner floored had a match-high eight kills each, while Kate Bres and Nicole Carter combined for 22 of Amherst's 33 assists. Warshaw recorded 19 digs for Amherst (6-2).
Keene State is on the road Tuesday at 7 p.m. against Emmanuel (Mass.). The Jeffs return to action on Friday, Sept. 19 when it travels to Trinity for its NESCAC opener at 8 p.m.
