Box Score NEW LONDON - N.H. The Keene State volleyall team went 2-0 on the first day of the Granite State Challenge with their 3-1 come from behind victory over Colby-Sawyer College. After dropping the first set 27-25, the Owls rallied to win the next three 25-21, 26-24, 25-20. The match featured 29 ties and 11 lead changes.
The Owls (6-9) had three players reach double figure kills and four with double digit dig totals. Angela Silveri recorded a double-double of 14 kills and 10 digs. Rachel Lamica hit .476 and had 12 kills, while Madeline Nossif added 11 kills and six total blocks. Leslie Hearns tallied a match best 27 digs. Alexis Michal (Windham, N.H.) also had a double-double with 22 assists and 13 digs.
Colby-Sawyer (8-4) was led by a 14-kill performance from sophomore Gabrielle Rodriguez. She also added 13 digs. Junior Laura Smolinski had a double-double of 44 assists and 14 digs. Leah Drolet hit .368 and had eight kills. Jackie Keating registered a double-double of 11 kills and 16 digs.
KSC will be at Rivier tomorrow for game three of the Granite State Challenge.
