Box Score BRIDGEWATER, Mass. - The Keene State College field hockey team posted a 2-0 shutout over Little East Conference foe Bridgewater State University on Saturday afternoon at Swenson Field.
The Owls improve to 4-3 on the season and 2-0 in the Little East, while the Bears fall to 2-4 overall and 1-1 in conference play.
After a scoreless first half, Keene State got on the board just 2:49 into the final stanza as senior forward Marisa Lemoine knocked home a rebound after a terrific save by BSU goaltender Emily Mosca.
Sophomore forward Sami Smith would add an insurance tally for the Owls in the 50th minute off a crossing pass from junior midfielder Haylie Dolan.
Keene State finished with a 13-3 shot advantage for the game as well as a 10-4 edge in penalty corners. Junior netminder Meaghan Dwyer made two saves to record her second shutout of the season. Mosca, who was making her first appearance in goal, finished with nine saves on the day as she kept the Bears within striking distance.
In upcoming action, Keene State hosts Trinity College on Tuesday evening at 6 p.m. Bridgewater State travels to New England College on Wednesday afternoon for a four o'clock game with the Pilgrims.
