Keene State Volleyball Downs Connecticut College 3-0

NORTON, Mass. - Madeleine Nossiff hit .529 as the Keene State College volleyball team swept past Connecticut College in a 3-0 (28-26, 25-11, 25-19) win Saturday afternoon at Wheaton College. The Owls are now 2-4, while the Camels dip to 0-2.

Nossiff had 11 kills and Angela Silveri added 11 kills and 11 digs for Keene State. Brooke Bell and Cat Kazazian combined for 35 assists, while Samantha Branning tallied nine kills. 

Emily Aterbury and Katia Elisman combined for 23 assists to lead the Camels. Sam Hunter registered seven kills and six digs, while Gabi Taylor chipped in six kills for Connecticut College, who were limited to .019 hitting for the match. 

The first set was neck-and-neck, with no team taking a lead larger than three. Tied at 26-26, the Owls finished off the set with kills by Nossiff and Katie Cunningham for the 1-0 advantage. 

KSC ran out to a 10-5 lead in the second set on an attack error by the Camels. The Owls extended their lead to 21-8 on a series of errors by Connecticut College and it was Nossiff's kill that gave Keene State the 25-11 victory. 

The Owls had another great start in the third, jumping out to a 12-2 lead on Hadfield's service ace. The closest the Camels came was on their four-point run to make the score 24-19, but KSC closed out the set and match on another kill by Nossiff. 

KSC completes the final game of the tri-match when they play Wheaton College at 3 p.m. Connecticut College will compete in the MIT Invitational on Friday, September 12.
