MEDFORD, Mass.--The Keene State College men's track and field team was fourth overall at the Tufts Invitational on Saturday.
The 4x200m relay groupof Eric Dietz, Devin Sanford, Quentin Bazarnicki, and James Stergis-Cox ran a season best 1:34.40 to win the event.
Ben Keach had another strong day placing second in the men's shot put (14.99m), and fourth in the weight throw with a season best throw of 14.67 meters.
Promise Kpee placed second in the men's long jump with a jump of 6.45 meters, to qualify for the New England Division III Championship Meet.
Ryan Brady scored in two events for the Owls placing fifth in the 3000 meters with a season-best time of 9:57.4, then coming back to place fifth in the 800 meter run in 2:05.24.
Likewise, Quentin Bazarnicki had a big day for the Owls, finishing in sixth place in the pole vault in 3.85 meters, seventh place in the triple jump in 12.45 meters, ninth place in the 600 meter run, 1:25.82, as well as the aforementioned 4x200 meter relay.
Ryan Milewski was fourth in the 800 meter run in 2:01.64. Milewski also scored as a member of the fourth place men's 4x400m relay team.
Meanwhile, the KSC women finished in 10th place on Saturday.
On the women's side, Kait Wheeler had a strong day placing second in the 3000 meters in 10:27.1, 10th in the 1000 meters in 3:13.19, and anchoring the women's fourth place 4x400m relay squad that finished in 4:16.20. Wheeler's time in the 3000m qualifies her for the post-season New England Division III and ECAC championship meets.
Katelyn Terry placed second in the women's 600 meter run with a personal best time of 1:39.76. Terry's time in the 600m run qualifies her for the New England Division III Championships and is just one second shy of the Open New England standard. Terry also had a season best in the triple jump of 10.24 meters and ran a very strong 60-second 400m lead leg on the fourth place 4x400m relay team.
Karisa Bergman took third place in the women's weight throw with a season best of 13.66 meters.
Allison Brady had a strong day placing fifth in the 600m (1:43.53) and running a strong leg on the fourth place 4x400m relay squad. Brady's 600m time qualifies her for the New England Division III Championship.
Kelsey Sheehan returned to action from a long injury layoff to place seventh in the women's 800m run (2:34.37).
The teams continue the indoor season at the Bowdoin Invitational on January 24.
