Owls Soar Past Plymouth State, 77-40

KEENE, NH - Four Owls scored in double figures as the Keene State women's basketball team flew past Plymouth State University in Little East Conference action Wednesday night at Spaulding Gymnasium.

The Owls earned a much needed conference victory and improve to 11-8, 3-5, while the Panthers remain drop to 6-11 overall and reamin winless in league play at 0-8.

Courtney Roberts' layup at the 14:15 mark capped a 14-0 run as the Owls took a 14-2 lead. Plymouth State responded and pulled within five (11-16) as four differen Panthers scored in that span. KSC extended their lead to as large as 20 points on Sam Murphy's trey to make the score 37-17 with 1:39 left in the half.

The Owls kept applying full court pressure in the second half and a layup by Amanda Petrow gave KSC its biggest lead of the game at 77-37 with 2:52 to go

Roberts added 12 points, knocking down 6-of-10 from the field, to go along with seven rebounds. Kelsey Cognetta and Sandi Purcell each finished with 12 points and Amanda Petrow poured in 11 off the bench. Stephanie D'Annolfo filled the stat sheet with eight points, five rebounds, four assists and three steals.

Plymouth State was led by DeAsia Lawrence's 13 points, while Tiffany Lewis and Kayla Wyland each finished with five points and four rebounds.

Keene State outrebounded the Panthers 46-22, forced 23 turnovers and shot 50 percent (9-18) from three-point range.

In upcoming action, KSC will hit the road for a Little East Conference tilt Saturday at 1 p.m. Plymouth State hosts Eastern Connecticut Saturday at 1 p.m.
