Box Score NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass.--Two goals seven minutes apart gave UMass Dartmouth a 3-1 win over Keene State College in a key Little East Conference field hockey game on Saturday.
Keene State is now 12-6, and 8-2 in the LEC. The Corsairs are 12-5, with a matching 8-2 LEC record, and hold the tiebreaker between the two schools with the victory.
KSC is assured of at least the No. 3 seed in the upcoming LEC tournament and will host a quarterfinal game on Nov. 3.
Hunter Carden's fifth goal of the season gave the Corsairs a 1-0 lead 19 minutes into the game; the lead stood until 72 seconds into the second half, when Keene State was awarded a penalty stroke that Casi Smith duly converted for her third goal of the season.
UMass Dartmouth went back in front in the 46th minute via Emily Anderson's goal, and Haley Donahay made it 3-1 in the 53rd minute.
Meaghan Dwyer made four saves for Keene State, while Alison Burke made three for the Corsairs. UMass Dartmouth outshot Keene State 14-6.
The Owls will head out of conference for the last time, hosting Smith College on Wednesday night at 7 p.m.
