KSC Volleyball Sweeps Past UMass Dartmouth, Salem State

NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass.--The Keene State College volleyball team ended the regular season with a pair of wins, sweeping a tri-match against Little East Conference opponent UMass Dartmouth as well as Salem State University on Saturday.

KSC (21-8, 6-1 LEC) has won eight straight and will be the No. 2 seed in the LEC tournament.  The Owls will host the winner Tuesday's quarterfinal between Plymouth State and Rhode Island College on Thursday night at Spaulding Gym.

UMass Dartmouth

Keene State .560 without an error in the second set en route to a 3-0 (25-17, 25-13, 25-22) win.  Rachel Lamica had 11 kills, while Madeleine Nossif had 10 and Angela Silveri had nine.  Christine Hadfield had six kills and Cat Kazazian had five as the Owls had four players hit .300 or better for the match.  

Alexis Michal had 12 digs, three service aces and 25 assists, while Silveri had 15 digs and four service aces as the Owl defense limited to Corsairs to a .055 hitting percentage for the match.

Salem State

KSC's dominance continued with a 3-0 (25-9, 25-14, 25-14) win over Salem State in their second match of the day.

Brook Hatanaka paced the offense with seven kills without an error in 18 attempts, while Courtney Collins and Taylor Bright each had five.  Brooke Bell and Michal each had 10 assists.  Bell also had three of KSC's 14 service aces; Hatanaka had five and Collins and Leslie Hearns each had two.

Hearns also had a team high eight digs, helping Keene State hold the Vikings to a -.057 hitting percentage.
