Box Score

WESTFIELD, Mass.--Freshman Emily McPadden led six Keene State players in double-figures with 17 points as the Keene State College women's basketball team posted a 93-64 win over Westfield State University on Wednesday night.

In addition to McPadden, KSC (3-0) got 13 points apiece from Stephanie D'Annolfo and Valerie Martin, 12 each from Sarah Kober and Sandi Purcell, and 10 from Amanda Petrow.  McPadden was 6-for-7 from the field, making five three pointers.

KSC overcame 39 turnovers of their own by limiting the hosts to 29% shooting from the field, including 12.9% (4-for-31) from three point range. Westfield State was also hurt by connecting on just 16 of their 35 free throw attempts, while Keene State also held a 59-37 advantage in rebounds.

Westfield State took a 7-0 lead over the first five minutes of the game, but from there it was all Keene State, as Kelsey Cognetta tied the score at seven with a three pointer, and Ryanne Williams knocked down a three of her own with 1:07 left in the first quarter for a 13-11 lead.

Keene State outscored Westfield State 59-34 over the middle two quarters for a comfortable 71-45 lead, and never let Westfield State get back in the game.

Petrow completed a double-double with a game high 11 rebounds, while D'Annolfo had eight boards and three assists, making 9-of-10 foul shots.

Keene State returns home to Spaulding Gym this weekend to host Smith College.  Tip-off is slated for 2 p.m.
