Keene State Volleyball Sinks Anchorwomen To Reach LEC Championship

KEENE, N.H.--Rachel Lamica and Madeleine Nossiff each had 11 kills as the No. 2 seed Keene State College volleyball team swept No. 6 seed Rhode Island College 3-0 (25-17, 25-23, 25-20) in the Little East Conference semifinals at Spaulding Gym on Thursday night.

The Owls (23-8) have won nine in a row and reach the LEC title game for the third time in four years and the seventh time overall.  KSC also reached the title game in 2005, 2008, and 2010, winning their only title in 2008.  Keene State will meet UMass Boston in the championship game on Saturday at 1 p.m.

The Anchorwomen end their year at 18-12.

Alexis Michal had 33 assists, three service aces, and nine digs, while Riley Bunker had 10 digs and three more service aces.  KSC limited RIC to .156 hitting for the match, including .093 in the decisive third set.

Christine Hadfield registered nine kills and two solo blocks.  Rhode Island College was led by 13 kills and 14 digs from Kelsey Lace.
