Box Score PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Senior Christan Wojtas scored a game-high 20 points Tuesday evening to lead Keene State College to a 64-39 victory over Plymouth State University in Little East Conference women's basketball action at Foley Gymnasium.
Wojtas scored 17 of her points in the first half as the Owls built up a 37-22 advantage at the intermission. She made 6-of-8 field goal attempts, including 5-of-6 from three-point range in the opening 20 minutes. Amanda Petrow added 10 of her 12 points in the first hald for KSC, converting 4-of-6 shots, while Sarah Kober made 6-of-7 shots in the second half to finish with 14 points on the evening.
Keene State has won five of their last six games to improve to 15-9 overall and 7-6 in the Little East, while Plymouth State dropped to 6-18 overall and winless in 13 league games.
The Panthers were led by Ace Lawrence who score nine points, while Taylor Perry tallied seven points off the bench and Tiffany Lewis collected a game-high eight rebounds.
Wojtas hit a pair of threes to open the scoring, and the Owls never looked back. Lawrence scored five points for PSU early on to keep the Panthers in the game, but Keene State extended its margin to double digits (17-6) after a pair of buckets by Petrow with 12 minutes on the clock.
PSU was still within 10 points with three minutes to go in the half after a pair of free throws and a basket by Perry, but Wojtas hit two more threes to help the Owls to the 15-point margin at the break.
Keene State pulled away to a 21-points lead (47-26) with 12:30 to play in the second half, and the Owls coasted home the rest of the way.
Both teams wrap up the regular season on Saturday at 1:00 p.m., with KSC visiting UMass Dartmouth, while PSU hosts Rhode Island College on Senior Day.
